Information shown here is for the 33rd National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, January 30 - February 4, 2017. Information will be updated prior to the opening of ticket sales for our 34th Gathering (January 29-February 3, 2018).
There are two kinds of shows and sessions at the Gathering: ticketed and non-ticketed. Ticketed performances showcase a combination of western bands and cowboy poets that you won’t see together during the day with a Pass. Some artists only perform on ticketed shows. These shows require purchase of individual tickets.
Daytime Non-Ticketed Shows and Sessions
(admission with the purchase of a pass)
Non-ticketed shows and events take place during the day Thursday through Saturday only. These require the purchase of a 3-Day Deluxe Pass or a Single Day Pass.
There are approximately 90 non-ticketed shows and other sessions during the three main days of the Gathering. Poets and musicians perform simultaneously on eight different stages in five locations in Elko. Your 3-Day Deluxe or Single Day Pass is your ticket to these performances and will also get you into our Keynote Address, films, open mic sessions of music and poetry, and more.
A 3-Day Deluxe Pass for the 33rd Gathering was $80 ($60 presale price closed December 17). When you buy a Deluxe Pass, you also get a program book and a commemorative pin.
A Day Pass ($30) provides admission for one day only to all non-ticketed daytime shows and events, Thursday-Saturday. For the 33rd Gathering, this was February 2-4, 2017.
Your 3-Day Deluxe Pass or Single Day Pass gives you access to non-ticketed shows and events on the three main days of the Gathering (Thursday-Saturday) including:
- intimate poetry recitations
- performances of cowboy and western music
- the keynote address
- western films
- open mic sessions of music and poetry
- lively discussions about the rural West and its future
