2018 highlights

Dancing Abounds at the Gathering

Enjoy a dance workshop to get prepared for the evening dances! We are especially pleased to bring theme-related sessions in Basque Dancing, Polka & Schottische to the 34th National Cowboy Poetry Gathering. Dance workshops are on Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3.

Read more about workshops. View the full daily schedule.

Dancing is always a big part of the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering!

Friday Night Dance - Feb 2, 2018, 9:30pm - Midnight
Elko Convention Center - Turquoise  $20

Give your boots the old spit and shine and get ready to careen across the floor. Wylie & The Wild West will rev you up with their rugged yet refined rhythms. A little bit Western swing, a little bit old-school country, a little bit rootsy rock, and a little bit yodel-ay-ay-cool, Wylie and Co. hit all the right notes to choreograph a stellar evening of bootie-scooting.

Saturday Night Dance - Feb 3, 2018, 9:30pm - Midnight
Elko Convention Center - Turquoise $20

Grab your gal, your guy, your newest Gathering-greenhorn, and get down to the tight harmonies, honky-tonk twang and country-shuffle rhythms of the Caleb Klauder Country Band. Their old-time Western country sound is delivered with a fresh, genuine, dance-inducing trajectory.

Midnight Dance - Feb 4, 2018, Midnight - 2:00am
G Three Bar Theater $20

Send the 34th out with a bang. Kick up some dust as Wylie & The Wild West and Adrian Buckaroogirl turn it up a notch at midnight. Their "rockin' rowel," cut-loose country vibes will have you dancing toward dawn.
